July 4, Wednesday:
12:00 Noon: The Eastport, Idaho Independence Day Parade
This should be a lot of fun, but we're not just asking you to watch the parade--this is your chance to
actually be in the parade!

We have two antique autos we are planning to enter into the parade. Anyone who wants to ride along
in the parade inside one of these vehicles is welcome to do so. If you have an auto you would like to enter,
bring it up, and you're in! Or if you have a horse, or a 4-wheeler, a bicycle, pretty much any conveyance is
accepted into this small town---very small town---parade.
But there's more: we are inviting all kids at the reunion to march in the parade behind a banner that says:
"Newhouse Family Reunion, 2012." Yes they are allowed to throw candy!
Whether you choose to be in the parade, or to watch along the parade route, plan on being there. You'll

1:00 pm: Hike to Copper Falls
A small but very pretty waterfall near Eastport, a very easy 1/2 mile hike.
3:00 pm: Campfire and Weenie Roast at the Copper Falls Campground
This is our provided group meal of the day.
FREE TIME
9:30 pm: Bonners Ferry 4th of July Fireworks Celebration at the Fairgrounds
Come ready with your own blanket, lawn chairs, snacks, earplugs, anything else you think you
might need.

July 5, Thursday:
9:00 am: Granny's Chocolate Gravy Breakfast
Granny has agreed to put together a huge Reunion-sized Chocolate Gravy Breakfast! Everyone invited!

11:00 am: Begin Preparations for Innertubing
12:00 Noon: Departure to Drive North to Eastport for Innertubing the Moyie River
Float the Moyie River! A few rapids, a few lazy, shady deep spots, it's all fun!
Be ready to leave at noon. Innertubes will be provided. You must bring your own safety vests and any
other items you might want, such as ropes to lash little kids' tubes to your tube, sunscreen, etc.

2:30 pm: Picnic on the top of Hall Mountain
On the way home from innertubing, we will take a side trip to the top of Hall Mountain (a 20 minute
drive to the top) to enjoy sweeping views of the Kootenai Valley while we enjoy a picnic lunch. For this
meal, everyone must bring their own picnic for their own family.

6:30 pm: Dinner at Newhouse Central
Enchiladas and Tacos for everyone! This is another provided group meal for the day.
7:30 pm: Game Night!
Fun games for both kids and adults! Prizes! Ice Cream Bar! Be There!
July 6, Friday:
9:00 am: Depart for our Expedition to Canada
We plan to caravan together to the town of Creston, British Columbia, Canada for
sightseeing and shopping.

3:00 pm: Scavenger Hunt and Shopping in Downtown Bonners Ferry
- This will be a Scavenger Hunt with a little bit of a twist that we hope will be fun for the kids
at the Reunion!

7:00 pm: Dinner at Newhouse Central
- Barbecue grilled Hamburgers! And all the fixins! This is a provided group meal of the day
8:00 pm: Movie Night!
- Plenty of popcorn for everyone!
We plan to have lunch together at a restaurant in Canada. (Not a provided group meal--everyone

July 7, Saturday:
10:00 am: Shooting
- Now's your chance to try your hand to see if you are a sure shot! We will have shotgun shooting
at flying clay pigeon targets, also shooting a .22 rifle to test your accuracy at stationary targets.
1:00 pm: Banquet Lunch at the Chic-N-Chop Restaurant
- It's already reserved and they are expecting us--lunch in the banquet room at the Chic-N-Chop
Restaurant in Bonners Ferry. Everyone responsible for their own check.
